"Wherefore I will yet plead with you, saith The Lord, and with your children's children." Jeremiah 2:9

Losing one's children is a punishment from God according to the following Scripture

"Thou hast forsaken Me, saith The Lord, thou are gone backward; therefore will I stretch out My hand against thee,and destroy thee; I am weary with repenting. And I will fan them with a fan in the gates of the land; I will bereave them of children, I will destroy My people, since they return not from their ways." Jeremiah 15:6-7

"So God created man in His own image, in the image of God, created He him, male and female created He them. And God blessed them and God said unto them, be fruitful and multiply and replenish the earth, and subdue it; and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth." Genesis 1:27-28

God warned that killing of humans is a sin and that there would be consequences:

"Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed, for in the image of God, made He man." Genesis 9:6

"Thou shalt not kill" Exodus 20:13

"Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven that one of these little ones should perish." Matthew 18:14

"For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies.These are the things that defile a man; " Matthew 15:19-20

"I will praise thee, [O Lord] for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written; which in continuance were fashioned,when as yet there was none of them." Psalms 139:14-16

"Before I formed thee in the belly, I knew thee, and before thou camest forth out of the womb, I sanctified thee." Jeremiah 1:5
